Best Mother's Day Yet

Mother's day last year was terrible and I knew I wanted things to be different this year. Just like last year, D and I talked about the day ahead of time but this year I realized that it just wasn't possible for me to get the day off.  There was no way I wasn't going to do my job for the day and I was okay with that going into it- I actually had no expectations for the day at all, beyond going to church in the morning.

It was the perfect Mother's day.  I made biscuits and gravy for everyone, we headed to church and then came home.  After lunch, Earth and Water took naps and Sky and Fire found activities to keep themselves busy during their quiet times.  I actually got a nap and when I woke up, I discovered that D and done the dishes and swept and mopped the kitchen and dining room.  It was the sweetest gift he could have given me!
All the kids played together nicely, D made us smoked chicken for dinner, and we went out for frozen yogurt for desert- really just a regular Sunday with an extra dose of sweetness.

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there!  I hope your day was as wonderful as mine was!
