Making Plans

D and Fire are flying out to Honolulu tomorrow, which means that Sky, Water, and I will be on our own for about two weeks.  Sky doesn't always do well with change so we've been preparing her for this trip as much as possible by talking about it and I've been doing some brainstorming to come up with ways to help the time pass faster for her.  Here's what I've come up with so far:

Camping on the beach:
We've tried camping on Roi before and it hasn't always worked out that well but I'm willing to give it another try.  The big problem last time was sleeping arrangements and I've got some good ideas on how to handle it this time.

Also, it's the only way that Sky will get to see this movie, which I think she'll love:

That should get us through the weekend.  I'm going to try to fill up the rest of the week with play dates, library time, and some much needed one-on-one time.  Sky and I tend to butt heads because we're so similar and I would really like to work on finding ways around that.  I'm hoping that having two fewer distractions in the house will help.

How do you handle single parenting?  Is it your every day (you're my hero, if so!)?  Any tips to help us get through
