Surgery Update
Fire had his hernia surgery early this morning. D said that it only took about 20 minutes and that Fire handled it beautifully. The only problem so far has been managing Fire's pain and it sounds like it just took longer than expected for the medicine to kick in. They are back at our friend's house in Kailua and D is doing his best to keep Fire calm- he's feeling well enough to want to run and jump all over the place!
Thank you so much for all your thoughts and prayers for our sweet boy. Even routine procedures like this one can be nerve-wracking and we appreciate your support. Fire and D should be on their way back home tomorrow and we can't wait to have them back!

ReplyDeleteThanks Shannon! He's doing really well and isn't in any pain at all. Unfortunately, it looks like the surgery didn't work and he still has the hernia. He's going to the surgeon here today to see if he needs to go back to Hono again :(
