Mommy Reality Challenge: Broken

Leapfrog and Lipgloss

This round of the Mommy reality challenge is to share something that's broken at my house.  There's so many things to choose from, how could I ever pick just one?!  Should I write about the knob on the back door, the paper towel holder, or the diaper pail?

Since this is a MOMMY reality challenge, I finally decided to share something of mine that's broken: my glasses.  I had eye surgery about eight years ago but afterward I still needed reading glasses.  I used them every day and have them on almost all day at work- you could say they're pretty essential.  Sadly, they're also broken:

About two months ago, the left bow just fell off of the pin it attaches to (oh, the joys of living where everything rusts!).  I tried glue, I tried solder, but nothing worked.  Now when I want to put on my glasses, I have to assemble them first.  I've had to learn to talk on the phone with it on the right side of my head because if I hold it to my left ear, the glasses come apart. Living way out here, I've gotten used to making do, but I think this takes it to a whole new level!

  1. Oh my goodness, that would drive me a little nuts, heehee. I am a glasses-wearer, as well, and I remember a pair of mine coming apart like that in Jr. High. I rigged them with tape, hot glue, and ticky tack... It was so embarrassing at that age, to say the least!

I hope at some point you can get new glasses!

    1. Oh that would have been embarrassing, but my parents totally would have had me do the same thing! You are like the glasses MacGyver though!

    2. Yeah, that would have been super embarrassing! I haven't used tape yet because they do stay on for the most part. I *really* hope they never get that bad :)

    1. We're in a bit of a spending holding pattern here so I'll probably be living with these for a while longer. I do really miss being able to price shop and find something we could afford. Oh well, the cost of paradise :)
