Adoption Talk Topics #1: Introductions
I'm going to try to keep up with the Adoption Talk Link Up this year and the first topic of the year is Introductions. I've done a few of those here on the blog (how we got to the Marshall Islands, why we chose adoption, and 99 things about me) but my life has changed quite a bit since those were written.
(There is something photo-worthy about a popcorn bucket bigger than your head...)
I'm still married to D and we still have four kids- Sky, Fire, Water, and Earth - all home through open adoption. For a long time, our life was defined by the island we lived on (Kwajalein, in the Marshall Islands) but all that changed about a year ago when D took a job near Tucson and we moved back to America. I became a stay-at-home-mom, taking care of our two youngest during the day.
I still enjoy to cooking, and while I don't get to read as much as I used to, I love finding new and fun things for our family to do around Tucson. We still travel (to Thailand last year, and we are planning a trip to Mexico) but most of our day to day life is the same as so many other American families.
It was lovely to "meet" you and I hope to see you here again soon!

I found you through Adoption Talk. It's nice to meet you and I hope to ((see)) you more this year. :)
ReplyDeleteHi, Amber. What a glorious photo of your family in your masthead! It's nice to "meet" you through the Adoption Talk Linkup. Very cool that you have a life of travel...hoping to return to that ourselves some day.
