David's dad plays in jam sessions every week with a group of local musicians and one of them throws a huge Labor Day BBQ every year. The hosts were gracious enough to extend the invitation to our family so we got to spend our holiday evening watching the kids run around a ranch, eating great BBQ and mid-western pot-luck, and then listening to a blue grass jam. Just like on Kwaj, there was a big kid willing to watch the little kids. He took them around to see the horses and introduced them to the dogs. D and I had a wonderful time, just relaxing and soaking it all in, remembering how much we missed events like this.
