It seemed like an unnecessary beast to me when D drove it up the drive at the prairie home but I've since fallen in love with our new truck. It's an '04 Ford Excursion, the limited edition. It's a little worn but still really nice inside. There's room for all three car seats and enough space for D and I to help lock the kids in without being cramped up. The kids like it because the seats are high enough for them to see out the windows and it comes with a built-in DVD player. It doesn't get great gas mileage but it makes up for that by having enough seats for four adults, besides the car seats, meaning that when R and C go with us, we only have to take one vehicle. So far it's working out great for us and I have high hopes for some great road trips in it!
